Andrews Institute Welcomes Allen Degges, M.D., to Its Team of Experts

Andrews Institute is pleased to welcome board-certified physician Allen Degges, M.D., to its interventional physical medicine and rehabilitation team. Dr. Degges specializes in interventional physical medicine and rehabilitation and uses minimally invasive treatments for conditions including arthritis, sciatica, muscle, tendon and spine pain. His clinical interests include treatment of chronic neck, joint, muscle, tendon and lower back pain; epidural steroid injections; radiofrequency nerve ablations; nerve blocks; ultrasound-guided procedures; regenerative and musculoskeletal medicine; joint injections and non-narcotic medication management of pain.

Dr. Degges earned his medical degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He also holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed both his internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as his fellowship in pain medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans.

Dr. Degges has served in several leadership roles such as representative of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the LSUHSC Graduate Medical Education committee and member of the LSUHSC House Staff Association. He also has volunteered with various organizations including St. Edward Cochon de Lait school, LSU Health Sciences Center and Habitat for Humanity, as well as participated in a medical mission trip to Guatemala.

He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and retains memberships with the Southern Pain Society, the Spine Intervention Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
