Andrews Institute Welcomes Christiaan Mamczak, D.O., to Its Team of Experts 


GULF BREEZE, Fla. (June 3, 2024) – Andrews Institute is pleased to welcome board-certified orthopedic surgeon Christiaan Mamczak, D.O., to its orthopaedic trauma and fracture care team. Dr. Mamczak specializes in orthopedic surgery and fracture care. He diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including bones and joints and their associated structures that enable movement, such as ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. His clinical interests include orthopaedic trauma, pelvic and complex fractures, fracture care,  malunions/nonunions and fragility fracture management.

Dr. Mamczak began his medical career serving in the United States Navy Medical Corps, completing his service as a lieutenant commander. He earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He completed his internship and osteopathic medicine residency at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. His fellowship in acute and reconstructive orthopaedic trauma and fracture surgery was obtained at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Driven by a dedication to continuing medical education and “patient-centric” outcomes, Dr. Mamczak provides leading fracture care for adult and pediatric patients. He also evaluates and treats general orthopaedic issues. Dr. Mamczak was recruited to serve as the Orthopaedic Trauma Director at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and is a faculty member at The University of South Florida, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He continues to publish manuscripts and book chapters related to fracture care and trauma. As an active member in the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, he serves as a national committee member and educator.

Dr. Mamczak was an orthopaedic trauma surgeon in Kandahar, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and aboard the USNS Comfort during Operation Unified Response for the 2010 Haitian earthquake humanitarian relief effort (receiving medals of commendation for both).

Dr. Mamczak has served in several leadership roles such as assistant professor for the department of orthopaedics at the University of South Florida, volunteer clinical assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Indiana School of Medicine, musculoskeletal trauma faculty member for AO North America, advanced trauma life support instructor and clinical instructor for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. He also served as an orthopaedic trauma surgeon in Kandahar, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and aboard the USNS Comfort during Operation Unified Response for the 2010 Haitian earthquake humanitarian relief effort.
